Position regarding the Programme Service feature use
The RDS Forum has been monitoring the use of the Programme Service (PS) feature for a number of years, when it was observed that some radio stations started to use the PS feature incorrectly in respect of the RDS Standard (see IEC 62106:2009, Section 7.12).

Terrestrial Radio's Digital Future in Europe
The RDS Forum 2011 has been monitoring the relatively slow changeover to Digital Radio DAB/DAB+/DRM in Europe.
The RDS Forum holds the view that Digital Radio has the full potential for new business solutions and it may have a bright future, particularly for automotive.
The RDS Forum believes that radio stations need to offer content that uses better the technical options available through this technology and if so, there could be a much faster take up of Digital Radio for both, the manufacturing industry for portables and car radios and consequently for all the mobile listeners. All listeners would receive the benefits of a broader choice of radio programmes and gain from the obvious benefits of 'going digital!'.
